My New Parakeet from Pet Smart . David stopped to purchase a male parakeet to hang with our other Bird Eloise who's parnter passed away about 2 months ago .. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope these two will be able to have babies ... Pet Smart in San antonio Texas USA ..

"Another thing I've got in my garden is Parakeets. There are of course parakeets all over London and beyond and have been for years. There are probably over 50000 of them out there in the wild and they are now accepted as a British bird. It has therefore caused a right old kerfuffle that the government - with the support of the RSPB - have decided to "cull parakeets!" Thus ran the headline in several national newspapers a few weeks ago. The article was often accompanied by a picture of a parakeet, just like the ones in my garden. The bird in question is a Ring Necked (or Rose Ringed) Parakeet. On the face of it, this is a pretty unbelievable decision. Kill over 50000 birds!! That's not a cull, that's slaughter. A couple of years ago, I had a budgie named Neon. He would always do this weird thing where he'd put his head between his feet... Sorry for the terrible camera quality.
